Dental Fillings With Our SOLEA Laser

Dental Fillings with SOLEA LaserImagine having your next dental filling completed with no injections, dental drill or lingering numbness! Thanks to our Solea Dental Laser, Dr. Caramico can do just that.

Solea allows Dr. Caramico to repair a tooth without any needles or drills, eliminating any pain, discomfort and numbness the patient may experience when compared to a traditional dental drill. Using Solea, repairing a tooth can now be done in a fraction of the time, compared to when using a traditional dental drill.

What is a Cavity?

Tooth cavities are permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of your teeth that develop into tiny openings or holes. Cavities can be caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks, and not taking proper care of your teeth – all of which leads to tooth decay. If cavities aren’t treated, they get larger and affect deeper layers of your teeth. They can lead to severe toothache, infection and tooth loss. Regular dental visits and good brushing and flossing habits are your best protection against tooth cavities and tooth decay. This is why it is critically important to have regular dental exams, so we can find these cavities before they turn into a serious issue.

Why Do I Need A Filling?

When decay or fracture creates a crack or a void in your tooth, it needs to be cleaned and the area restored with a filling; we use very natural materials in our office. When the fracture or void gets so large that it compromises the integrity of a tooth, a crown or partial crown may be indicated.

What Exactly is SOLEA?

Solea is an isotopic CO2 laser that offers a unique wavelength guided by sophisticated computers to deliver virtually painless dental procedures for both teeth and gums from simple cavities to complex surgeries. The experience is so different that you will find it hard to believe you were just at a dental appointment. Solea is truly changing what it means to go to the dentist, as it helps to eliminate any fears that patients may have about going to the dentist. When patients have anesthesia, they’d leave the office with that numb feeling. With Solea, patients are able to go right out to lunch or back to work without that numb sensation.

Does SOLEA Hurt?

Our Solea dental laser lets us deliver virtually anesthesia-free, drill-free, blood-free, suture-free, and pain-free procedures for both teeth and gums, from simple filling prep to complex surgeries. Solea can also be used on teeth with previous fillings. Most patients do not even realize what tooth or area of the mouth Dr. Caramico treated!

Can SOLEA be Used on Children?

Absolutely! The Solea laser is perfect for children, and for those who are afraid to go to the dentist because of its anesthesia-free, blood-free, drill-free and noise-free advantages. “Not all dental lasers are the same, and the one I use is very unique”, Dr. Caramico says. “Patients don’t experience the post-procedure sensitivity that often comes with a dental drill”.

I’m pregnant. Is it ok to use SOLEA on me?

Yes! It is actually better for you since we do not have to inject you with anesthetic.

Are There Risks with using SOLEA?

Solea is the first CO2 dental laser cleared by the FDA for hard and soft tissue procedures- the first of its kind on the market. There are actually fewer risks in using Solea in comparison to traditional dental treatments. There is less potential chance of bacterial infection because laser treatments are so precise, and there is often far less bleeding during surgical procedures.

Is SOLEA covered by insurance?

Yes, Solea is covered by insurance the same way traditional procedures would be covered. Solea replaces the drill, so billing codes are the same.

I LOVE Midland Park Family Dentistry. Went for a cleaning which I use to dislike, and had a wonderful experience. Found a cavity and went back two weeks later (Had to build up my confidence that I could do this). When I tell you no Novocain, and NO PAIN! I am not exaggerating. Dr. Tony uses a laser and other than a small tingle, I felt nothing. Going to get my kids records and switch them to MPFD, too.
